Our EY Enterprise Risk Management team (ERM) is looking for an ambitious student who is passionate about understanding the processes and challenges of non-financial risk management to join us for an internship. As an intern, you will get to work with a knowledgeable and experienced team on various interesting topics and get a first-hand look at what it is like to be in our team.

Financial institutions are increasingly confronted with risks stemming from new market trends (e.g. digitalization, cloudification etc.) and new regulations (i.e. risk of not being compliant) like ESG, DORA ,EU Retail Investment Strategy etc. In parallel, new tools and techniques allow companies to identify and manage risk exposures which urges them to adopt new solutions and risk management practices. Our team aims to understand how to best leverage technology to optimize operations.

Your Key Responsibilities
An internship within our ERM team will allow you to better understand how we are helping our clients, help us obtain further insights into the market, and will allow you to take ownership of a given end-to-end use case. It can take on many forms depending on your curriculum and/or the time you will be planned to support us.

Next to working with our experienced team on a daily basis, typical activities that you may expect to work on can be found below:

  • Market research on specific topics (i.e. trends & regulations) and how they may impact our clients;
  • Assist our client facing team in the delivery of client proposals as well as projects;
  • Support us with improving our internal initiatives and processes;
  • Most importantly you will work with the team towards a goal, for you to feel the achievements together with the team at the end of your internship experience.

Your Profile
You have/are:

  • On-track for a master degree in (Applied) Economics, Commercial Engineering, Finance, Accountancy or Commercial Sciences;
  • Ability to perform effective research and convey complex topics in a clear, understandable manner;
  • Interest and affinity in non-financial risk and/or compliance;
  • An analytical mind and an eye for detail, with accurate documentation capabilities;
  • Strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy;
  • Fluency in Dutch and/or French, with proficient level of business English;
  • Good communication skills;
  • A global mindset, and the drive to work in international teams;
  • Eager to learn more about the Financial Services market in Belgium and beyond;
  • Available to start in February 2025.
