When you join EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS), you will utilize sustainability knowledge to help clients respond, adapt and innovate. You will collaborate with high-impact decision-makers and colleagues around the world to make informed, transformative decisions. You will assist companies in improving sustainability reporting and mitigating corporate risk. You will help drive sustainable innovation and growth.
As a Climate Change and Sustainability Services Intern, you will align to a solution (descriptions below) and will have the opportunity to work across various clients, projects and industries.
Climate Advisory
Assist clients in reducing costs and increasing operational performance; our advice spans climate strategy, climate risk, road-mapping and more. Help clients respond to risks and opportunities related to climate change.
Sustainability Advisory
Assist clients with all aspects of developing and implementing a successful ESG strategy, including goal setting, governance and stakeholder engagement. Help clients realize the value of sustainability through reducing costs, improving decision-making and delivering long-term value.
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisory
Assist clients in reducing the risk of EHS events and improving workplace productivity and financial performance. Help conduct statutory, compliance, gap and risk EHS assessments, and help with data management and resource efficiency.
Non-Financial Reporting Assurance
Assist clients in communicating nonfinancial performance, identifying stakeholder expectations and providing reporting transparency. Help companies enhance their sustainability reporting and adhere to reporting standards.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Digital
Leverage our deep knowledge of digital solutions and data analysis to provide advisory services to assist clients with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance, reporting and goal ambition. Help document current state data, processes and controls enabling software analysis and selection.
What you will do
Assist in the delivery of Climate Change & Sustainability Services, with an emphasis on complex and/or specialized issues within Assurance and/or technical sustainability reporting and advisory capacities.
Work with clients in their efforts to identify, measure, and appropriately manage their business and reporting risks as they transition their organizations to respond to changing government environmental regulations and new trends in sustainability management and reporting.
Identify and communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client, while demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and marketplace.
Job requirements and preferences
Required qualifications
You have or are working toward a bachelor\'s or a master\'s degree in accounting, environmental, industrial, or chemical engineering, sustainability, environmental science, environmental policy, computer science, data science, occupational health and safety, and/or related academic majors.
Preferred qualifications
Exposure or knowledge within environmental foot-printing, lifecycle analysis, sustainable supply chain planning and/or carbon markets is a plus.
Exposure to voluntary and/or regulatory ESG frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI), the EU\'s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the SEC\'s climate-related disclosure rules.
