What you will do
When you join our Real Estate Transactions team, you\'ll navigate the complexities of property acquisitions, sales, financing, and restructuring. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic market with a collaborative team of experts, contributing to client success through tailored tax consulting and a comprehensive understanding of transaction processes. In addition, you’ll benefit from extensive formal and hands-on training to enhance your technical and client management skills. Finally, you’ll manage a diverse project portfolio, prioritize effectively, and develop into a seasoned tax professional with specialized real estate knowledge.
Your key responsibilities
Conduct tax due diligence for acquisitions, evaluating risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with global tax teams to coordinate information and meet project deadlines.
Design tax structures for significant domestic and international real estate deals.
Oversee REIT due diligence and calculate non-US investors\' after-tax investment returns.
Manage full engagement lifecycle, assess tax implications in financial models, and deliver comprehensive tax research and documentation.
Job requirements and preferences
Required qualifications
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with progress towards an LLM in Taxation, JD, or Master of Taxation.
Membership or anticipated membership in a US state bar; or a demonstrable plan for passing the CPA exam.
Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The salary range for this job, in the US, is $115,000 - $130,000. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
