Job Description

Summary

The Student Affairs Student Program Assistant will provide support to the Senior Manager with organizing, planning, facilitating, and assessing the annual School of Medicine MS1 Retreat program. Position duties include maintain program documents, assist with program logistics, assist with coordinating communications between Student Affairs, the Peer Resource Network (PRNs), and the off-campus program facilities, maintain program Standard Operating Procedures manual, incorporate assessment data from previous years, and prepare program data for Senior Manager and Deans to review.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.

Job Duties

  • Researches other medical school student programming for MS1s that relate to retreat, review national student affairs/higher education best practices for student programming to incorporate into PRN training and retreat programming.
  • Works with PRN leaders on program logistics, supply reviews, administrative support (helping with planning training day and scheduling) and help provide a consistent communication channel between Student Affairs and PRNs.
  • Helps schedule meetings with all parties which include coordinating availability with all parties, schedule meetings (in-person or virtual), and provide administrative notes at the meetings to help identify action items/next steps.
  • Assists with obtaining purchase details (contracts, quotes, supply ideas, etc.) and work with Student Affairs staff in purchasing supplies and services.
  • Attends the PRN Training Day and MS1 Retreat programs and help facilitate assigned areas of each program.
  • Partners with Student Affairs staff on building and maintaining content for program evaluations and help collect the data from MS1 participants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
